* On launch day, the game and the servers will not be the absolutely latest. We are still trying to work out how to handle server administration etc.
* Once the “day1 patch” goes out, they will have full access to the server administration interface.
* DICE is not committing to a release date for the “day1 patch”. However we aim to release it during Mar 5th-7th (GMT).
This means limited or no RCON or administration until the patch is released.

Valve’s ‘Left 4 Dead 2′ first DLC ‘Passing’ is getting ready for release in late March. The new DLC will feature the new cast meeting up with the old cast from ‘Left 4 Dead 1′, and for all those that think you can play the old cast in the new DLC, this news will surely crush those dreams. Valve’s Chet Faliszek confirmed that Bill, Zoey, Francis, and Louis will be Non-playable-characters (NPC) in the ‘Passing’ scenario, they are there to just help the new cast get through the stage.
However, there is something to look forward to and that is Valve will be introducing a new infected to the swarm. The new uncommon common infected will be called ‘The Fallen Survivor’, which are infected humans that will give you items when they are brought down.
I was really hoping the Coach and Bill can team up, guess I’ll have to wait a little longer for that.
Check out the new screenshots from Valve on the Passing DLC. The army fella in one of the shots is the new ‘Fallen Survivor’.

In the first two months of Left 4 Dead 2’s release, 28,981,249,043 zombies have been shot, bludgeoned, chainsawed and killed — or, for our younger readers, taken to a farm where they can frolic and shuffle around forever.
You read that correctly: 28 BILLION. To put that number in perspective:
•The entire population of the planet has been zombified and killed 4.26 times.
•With the average height of a zombie being 6 feet, if you stacked them end to end they would circle the globe 1,322 times.
•If you placed 28,981,249,043 rulers end to end, they would reach 28,981,249,043 feet in the sky.
In short: That is a bucketload of dead zombies. Nice job, everyone.

In 2009, the video game industry witnessed the triumphant return of beloved franchises, the appearance of numerous blockbuster sequels, a continued push for major downloadable content, and the arrival of brand-new properties. We’ve already seen some new faces and some familiar ones in the early part of 2010, and if the games in our Most Anticipated lineup are any indication, this year is going to have no shortage of excellent games on par with those released in 2009. but there’s one major difference between this year and last: Read the rest of this entry »

The Bad Company 2 beta on the PC has been one of the larger time sinks for shooter fans in recent years. While the code is slightly rough, the mechanics and gameplay are polished and tight if played with a good group of players. If you hide inside a building, mortar rounds can take it down. If you see an enemy creeping towards an objective, call him out to your squad mates and have your friends hunt him down. Read the rest of this entry »
