An update was released a day or two ago. Here are the details.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam, EA and DICE's full-blooded expansion to one of the year's best first person shooters, has been priced.

At 15 USD, or just under 10 GBP, it weighs in at the heavier scale of pricing for downloadable content but it does promise plenty of bang for its buck. Four new maps, fifteen weapons and six vehicles are included, all wrapped up in period '60s stylings.

It certainly made an impression when we last played it at this year's Tokyo Game Show.

There's still no word of a date beyond the loose window of Winter 2010.

Modders
Users who have modified their hardware and have run hacked script or code. This includes modifying profile data to use illegal characters in a player’s name.
 

• • Instant permaban. You will no longer be allowed to play the game online, and you will be reported to the console manufacturers.

Boosters
Users who organize to exploit the game for the explicit purpose of ranking up very quickly or to appear in a high position on the leaderboards.

Q: Will we get the /connect and /reconnect commands in the next patch?

Treyarch
A: /connect is coming back. maybe not next patch but I promise it is coming back.

Q: Will the last killcam (End of the round) lag too fixed if the patch comes out?

Treyarch
A: TBH I’m not sure yet what is causing killcam choppiness, but we see it too. Will fix.

Q: Not asking specifics, but now that the game is launched, are mod tools ideas being kicked around yet? and congrats on the game!

A:Thanks, man. mod tool dev started already. no bandwidth to discuss until after some patches though.

Q: Will it be possible at some point to have servers with lower max player counts? 18 players in FFA games for example = too chaotic!

A: Will add 12 player playlists.

Q: Will it be possible to put reserved slots for my friends and me on my own ranked server again?

A:We removed the feature because it was abused. will fix.

Valve send us the news that their digital download service has proven rather popular.

During the past 12 months the platform had year-over-year new user growth of 178%, pushing the total number of active accounts to over 30 million, with over 1,200 games now offered. Peak simultaneous player numbers were also up to over three million, with over six million unique gamers accessing Steam each day.

In addition to new user growth, Steam sales during the trailing 12 months increased by more than 200%, putting it on track for a sixth straight year of realizing over 100% year-over-year growth in unit sales. To meet this demand, the Steam infrastructure has been increased and now has ability to run at 400Gps, enough bandwidth to ship a digitized version of the Oxford English Dictionary 92.6 times per second.
